A Private Three Glens Day Trip Designed Around You
This Three Glens tour from Fort William is more than a scenic drive. It is a journey through Highland identity.
In Glenfinnan, you encounter powerful Jacobite history and cinematic views across Loch Shiel. In Glen Nevis, you stand in the shadow of Ben Nevis and explore one of Scotland’s most tranquil glens. In Glencoe, you experience vast mountain scenery shaped by ancient geology and dramatic historical events.
Because your tour is private, there is no pressure to keep to a rigid timetable. If the light is perfect across the mountains, we stop. If you want more time to explore a viewpoint, we stay longer. This flexibility ensures your experience feels relaxed and personal.

Three Glens Tour Highlights
Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel
Glenfinnan sits at the head of Loch Shiel and offers one of the most iconic vistas in the Highlands. The combination of monument, loch and surrounding hills creates a striking introduction to the day.
The Glenfinnan Viaduct
The sweeping curve of the viaduct is instantly recognisable. Positioned high above the valley floor, it remains one of Scotland’s most photographed railway bridges and a highlight for visitors from around the world.
Glen Nevis and Ben Nevis
Beneath the imposing presence of Ben Nevis lies Glen Nevis, a peaceful valley framed by steep mountain ridges. Here you can experience quieter Highland scenery, cascading waters and wide open space.
Highland Wildlife Encounters
The Highlands are home to iconic species, including red deer and Highland cattle. When possible, we pause safely for photographs and appreciation of the natural surroundings.
Lunch in Fort William
Midway through the day, return to Fort William for lunch. The town offers a welcoming high street with a range of independent cafés and restaurants.
Glencoe Valley
Few places in Scotland rival the drama of Glencoe. Sheer mountain walls rise sharply from the valley floor, creating one of the most atmospheric landscapes in the country. The glen’s history adds further depth to the scenery, making it both visually powerful and culturally significant.
Kings House and Rannoch Moor Views
At Kings House, expansive views stretch across Rannoch Moor. The surrounding landscape feels vast and untouched, offering a memorable conclusion to your Highland exploration.

Long story short; we sincerely would recommend Tartan Tours. Special emphasis should be put on Jamie the guide who took us for the day. He was kind, funny and particularly knowledgeable , but at the same time really respectful towards our daughter who was 8 years old, engaged with her throughout the day. Remarkable how much information and stories he had to share with us. The tour itself is simply something to put on your bucket-list, all highlights on the Isle of Skye were visited but from slightly different spots (less touristy and busy, which is perfect!), with the grand finale Quiraing where we had the privilege of enjoying spectacular views and a wee dram. Jamie has given us one of the best tours ever…. And an unforgettable experience that will last with us for a long time. Hope we can stay in touch as well ..Posted on Gijs van WezenbeekTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend Tartan Tours in Fort William! My family and I had a great day touring Isle of Skye with Jamie. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and made the whole experience very relaxing and enriching for us!Posted on H ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We enjoyed every moment we spent with him and recommend him with no hesitation.Posted on Brian ElkinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My partner, father in law and I had the pleasure of engaging Tartan Tours on our recent trip to Scotland. We first spent a wonderful half day on a local tour of Glencoe and the Fort William surrounds being guided by the very knowledgeable, easy going and kind Jamie who welcomed us dressed in traditional Scottish attire (kilt etc) and his comfortable and immaculate tour van. Jamie is a wealth of knowledge and throughout the tour he impressed us by his ability to recite important historical dates and details of the various sites that we visited. He also treated us to a dram of fine, single-malt whisky towards the end of the tour which my partner enjoyed sipping by a beautiful man made loch on an estate previously built by a wealthy Canadian businessman who emigrated to Scotland. Our second full day tour to the Isle of Skye and surrounds was just as good, despite the typical Scottish weather of drizzle and mist coming in throughout the day. Jamie kept us entertained and intrigued throughout the day as we visited more historically significant locations and landmarks. We stopped for lunch halfway through the tour and his recommendations for the various lunch eateries were much appreciated. Jamie is also an excellent driver and at no time did we feel anything but at ease and comfortable as we travelled along the winding country roads in the rain throughout the day. Jamie was even kind enough to stop at a local grocery store for us on the way back to our hotel so that we could purchase some items to take back for dinner. The three of us highly recommend Tartan Tours for anyone wishing to sit back and enjoy being taken on a wonderful journey through the Scottish highlands. Jamie is planning a visit to Australia in the near future and we hope to see him again and show him around our part of the world when he is here. Thanks again Jamie for making our visit such a memorable experience. Eddie, Karen and Ron :)Posted on Eduardo RodriguezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our tour with Jamie to Loch Ness with all the stops along the way was amazing! Definitely the best part of our Scotland experience.Posted on Tami WindomTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jamie is the best guide! I appreciated his quick response while booking. His kindness and generosity made me feel comfortable as a solo traveler. He was very knowledgeable, answering all my questions and providing recommendations. When we encountered an accident and heavy rain/fog, he seamlessly adjusted our plan. Would highly recommend a tour with Jamie if you want breathtaking views, interesting facts, good food, highland cows and an overall great time! As an added bonus, he played great music during the drive!Posted on Emily LubarskyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. HIGHLY recommend Jamie at Tartan Tours. He transported our group of six from Edinburgh to Glenfinnan and then led us on three amazing tours. He was a safe driver and very informative and humorous. He also has a few "off the beaten path" stops that are special. A bonny experience!Posted on Jeff FinkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had seven trips with Tartan Tours over two weeks in the Highlands. Jamie, our driver was excellent: timely, informative, fun. We toured in comfort; we learned a lot; we ate some wonderful food. Jamie knew how to get in and out of the various tourist-filled venues. And he took us to some really cool places that we had not even heard about. FIVE STARS is not enough praise.Posted on Don HartonVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
